50-YEAR-OLD COGNAC XO

Crus de Grande Champagne. These are brandies which are 50 years old or more, with the oldest dating from 1922, aged exclusively in oak barrels and blended more than 48 months previously. Hennessy-type distillation. 42° proof. Natural reduction with light filtration at ambient temperature.

A long, powerful aroma, full of rancio, then spicy notes of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla. Delicate woody nuances, cigar-boxes and undergrowth.

The palate detects finesse first of all, and smoothness bestowed by the presence of a group of Grande Champagne brandies, very present in the mouth. Then the taste buds recognise the vanilla character from the Limousine oak barrels, then spicy flavours of cinnamon, ginger and cloves return, along with the elusive sweetness of fruit.
